Short answer: A UAE visit/tourist visa can normally be extended inside the country, but only through the same agency or sponsor that applied for your visa. Another agency cannot extend it. If you are on a grace period after a residence visa cancellation, that grace period cannot be extended inside the UAE.
Who can extend inside the UAE?
- Visit / tourist visa holders: yes, an inside extension is normally possible — but only through the original issuing agency.
- Cancelled residence visa (grace period): no inside extension. You must exit or change status.
Why only the original agency?
Your visit visa is linked to the sponsor that applied for it. Only that sponsor can request the extension in the system. That is why EEC Travels — or any other agency — cannot extend a visa that was issued through someone else.
Lost contact with your agency, or they are not doing it?
If your original agency is unreachable or refuses, do not wait until your visa expires. To avoid overstay fines you have two options:
- Exit through a visa change and return on a new tourist visa — by flight (A2A) or by bus, depending on your nationality.
- Get a job and change your status inside the UAE to an employment visa through your new employer.
On a grace period after residence cancellation?
The grace period after cancelling a residence visa is non-extendable inside the country. Your options are:
- Exit and apply for a new tourist visa through a visa change.
- Change status inside if you get a new employment visa or a family sponsor (for example a spouse or parent who can sponsor you).
