Quick answer: UAE residents apply for a Schengen short-stay visa at the visa centre of the country where they will spend the most nights (or first enter, if nights are equal). You normally need a valid passport, a UAE residence visa valid beyond your return date, bank statements, travel insurance, a hotel booking and a flight reservation. EEC Travels provides a flight reservation for embassy documentation for AED 80.
Who can apply from the UAE?
- Holders of a valid UAE residence visa (Emirates ID). Most embassies expect it to remain valid for some months after your planned return.
- Visit-visa holders usually cannot apply in the UAE and must apply from their home country.
- Visa-free passports (for example EU, UK, US) do not need a Schengen visa for short stays.
Document checklist
- Passport valid at least 3 months after you leave the Schengen area, issued within the last 10 years, with two blank pages.
- Copy of UAE residence visa and Emirates ID.
- Completed application form and recent photos to embassy specifications.
- Recent personal bank statements (commonly 3–6 months, stamped).
- Salary certificate or NOC from employer, or trade licence if self-employed.
- Travel medical insurance covering at least EUR 30,000 for the whole trip.
- Hotel booking or invitation letter.
- Flight reservation / itinerary showing entry and exit dates.
Each embassy may ask for extra papers. Always check the official checklist of your destination country's visa centre.
Why a flight reservation, not a paid ticket?
Most embassies advise not buying non-refundable tickets before the visa is approved. A flight reservation shows your planned route and dates for the application file. With EEC Travels it costs AED 80.
Disclaimer: our flight reservation is for embassy/visa documentation purposes only. It is not a ticket and is not valid for boarding or travel. Buy your actual ticket after your visa is approved.

When to apply
- You can usually apply up to 6 months before travel and no later than 15 days before.
- Summer and Eid periods get busy in Dubai, so book your appointment early.
- Decision times vary by embassy; plan for a few weeks.
Which country do I apply to?
Apply to the country of your main destination (longest stay). If you stay equal nights in several countries, apply to the country you enter first. A Schengen short-stay visa allows up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
FAQs
Can I apply for a Schengen visa on a UAE visit visa?
Generally no. Schengen embassies in the UAE normally accept applications only from UAE residents.
Is a dummy ticket accepted?
Use a genuine reservation, not a fake ticket. Our AED 80 reservation is for documentation only and not valid for travel.
Does EEC Travels issue Schengen visas?
No. Only the embassy or consulate decides and issues visas. We help with supporting documents such as flight reservations and hotel bookings.
